Hello and welcome back to my blog. In today's blog post I am going to be talking about a reading task that we had to do. For our reading task we had to draw a weapon from this book we had to read. The book was called Tarakura of the Rangitaiki  Plains

One day Iratumoana the chief of Ngati Awa and known as the warrior, took a brave step and was going on a journey to battle and win against the taniwha that carries death, known as Tarakura.

The purpose of the story was to inform and entertain others.

I thought the story was really cool and interesting because I like to read creepy/horror stories and because it was about a taniwha.

I thought the begging in the story was creepy and frightening

At the end of the story the chief Iratumoana and the Ngati Awa iwi lived happily ever after without the taniwha ever showing up again.

I think he was a hero because he saved him and the Ngati Awa people from the taniwha that kept killing and stealing other people’s lives.
